Media accreditation for ISN congresses, summits, meetings and events

Media accreditation for ISN congresses is strictly reserved for members of the press (print, photo, radio, TV, film, news agencies and online media) who represent a media organization. Accreditation will only be given on proof of a track record of reporting for media organizations.

• Coverage purposes

The request should be supported by the following documents:

Applications will be accepted until April 5, 2019. Applications will then be reviewed and applicants will be notified. Once you have received confirmation of your accreditation, you will be registered for the conference. Print out the confirmation and bring it with you to the conference. You may collect your badge on-site at the registration desk at the conference venue. Registration opens on Thursday April 11, 2019. Detailed schedules will be accessible on the Confirmation of registration.

Non-registered press arriving on site and interested to cover WCN should register at the dedicated late registration counter upon presentation of their press card and business letter, and upon approval by the ISN Press Officer.

ISN reserves the right to revoke permissions to attend and to ask individuals to leave.

Audio and video recording

Recordings of the session, which have received the speakers’ agreement, will be published by the ISN on the ISN Academy portal www.academy.theisn.org.
No audio recording or video recording of the presentations is allowed.
Photography for commercial use is not allowed. Any person wishing to take photos for a publication, must register as press.

• Scientific sessions
• Session rooms
• Poster area

If you are granted a badge, it is forbidden to photograph presentation content and use flash photography when the room is dark.

ISN will interrupt any disruptive or hazardous filming and badge will be revoked.

ISN reserves the right to reject requests that, in ISN’s opinion, are not compatible with the organization’s values, would interfere with the delegates’ experience, or put undue burden on property or staff.

Guidelines for interview recording

Only ISN press accredited people can request an interview with speakers.
• A visible press badge is required at all times.
• Journalists must introduce themselves and name their media before conducting interviews. Individuals at the conference may decline to be interviewed.
• Please take care not to identify individuals when you take photos during the receptions, in lobby and poster room.
• As for publication of content, please obtain approval from the speaker. The ISN does not take responsibility for any content published outside ISN’s own channels.
• Photo credit to mention for print and online publications: © 2017-2019 ISN {name of the event ie FRONTIERS} ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
• When presenting the ISN, official descriptors must be used.

Third party media policy

This policy applies to all activities organized for the news media during or in connection with WCN 2019 by third parties. It is not permitted to schedule press events that coincide with the official press conference, any other official event or session of the congress.

Reference to the congress can only be made in connection with scientific presentations planned in the official program of the meeting. This policy applies to any media event, regardless of whether it is held on or off site.

Embargo Policy

Third parties are requested to abide by the congress embargo policy. Should an embargo be broken, both the third party and the journalist concerned will be held responsible.

It is planned that all of the congress presentations will go online on the ISN Academy web page on academy.theisn.org, and can be reported from that time onwards.

Embargoes for releases on these presentations must match those on the congress official press releases. Press releases for late breaking abstracts that do not form part of the official media program should be embargoed until after their presentation.

Confidentiality

All abstracts accepted for presentation at the congress are considered to be confidential from the time the abstract is submitted to the congress until public release at the congress or by ISN. No information regarding abstracts should be issued until the time the abstracts are published or made public.

The Global Kidney Policy Forum invites the press to their event taking place onsite on the Opening day of WCN. Press interested in joining, need also apply for a badge as described above. The press release will be prepared by ISN.
